General Information
The touring staff of BoanDanz Action Company travels with a Choreographer, a Technical Director/Lighting Designer, 3 dancers and 1 musician. We carry our own costumes, sets, props, and gobos for lighting. We require the sponsor to provide lighting and sound equipment, color media, soft goods, crew, adequate stage surface for barefooted dancing, and dressing room facilities as noted below. This rider shall be made part and parcel of the contract between BoanDanz Action Company (Company) and the Presenter (Presenter). Any changes must be approved by BoanDanz Action Company in writing prior to the performance.
Payments
All payments by the Presenter to the Company (excluding the deposit) must be in US Currency with fifty percent of the fee payable upon execution of this contract and the remaining fifty percent paid prior to the last performance of the final date.
Accommodation
Presenter shall provide 5 single hotel rooms in a four star hotel (Holiday Inn, Marriot, or Radisson are suitable) for the artists for the duration of their stay for the performance(s). The hotel should include a restaurant. The duration of housing will also include any days before and/or after performance(s) which are necessary.
Ground Travel
Transportation shall be provided for the Company by the Presenter to and from a major airport and to and from the venue and hotel, at various times as necessary for the Company.
Air Travel
If air travel is provided – 5 round trip coach air tickets will be needed as well as 2 excess baggage tickets. Air travel must be arranged no later then 21 days prior to the performance. The travel itinerary must be approved by the Artist prior to being issued.
Travel outside the USA
The Presenter will arrange for any and all necessary immigration work visas or clearances if the performance is to be outside the United States.
1. Theater
Stage Dimensions: Company requires a performing area of 40 feet wide by 32 feet deep from front curtain to upstage crossover. The minimum performing area is 36 feet wide by 28 feet deep from front curtain to crossover.
Environment: Stage area and dressing rooms must have an air temperature maintained between 68 degrees Fahrenheit (20 degrees Celsius) and 90 degrees Fahrenheit (32 degrees Celsius) from one hour before any performance or rehearsal, through the conclusion of the performance or rehearsal.
2. Lighting Equipment
Lighting Instruments:
Type and number of instruments will vary depending on the size and type of the House as well as its inventory. At a minimum the house must have adequate lighting to provide the following:
1 warm front wash
1 cool front wash
1 cool back wash
1 warm back wash
1 full stage High side
1 full stage gobo wash
Booms in each of the wings with shins, mids, and heads

Presenter must provide the Artist with a stage plot, ground plan and if appropriate a rep plot of the House no later than 60 days before scheduled arrival. The Artist’s Technical Director will provide the Presenter with a lighting plot, stage plot and if necessary a ground plan that is venue specific no later than 2 weeks prior to the Company’s load-in.
Presenter must hang, patch and color all instruments prior to the arrival of the Company, unless otherwise agreed to in advance.
3. Audio
One Professional Audio CD player, one Mini Disc player (MD)
Mixer with a minimum of 8 channels
2 two-channel amplifiers
Speakers of sufficient quality to fill the Hall
2 onstage monitors
Shure SM58 or equivalanet microphone
1 wireless lavalier microphone for cello player vocals
1 DI box for cello player (musician carries her own pickup mic)
Headset communications between stage manager's position and running crew
4. Visual
2 professional video projectors with at least 3000 lumens with dousers/shutters*
* Company may be able to provide one projector if needed
2 mounting platforms for projectors
All necessary cabling to run both projectors
RCA cable of sufficient length to reach from House Projector position to DSC.
5. Soft Goods
5 sets of black legs pre-hung to form four 7' wing openings
5 black borders
full stage black drop hung upstage leaving at least a 3' crossover/if in a fly space, goods will fly in and
out during the show, if unable to fly goods must be on a traveler track

6. Floor
Stage floor and backstage area must be clean and free of nails, splinters, or any other protrusions.
A black linoleum or Marley-type vinyl floor on stage. Floor must be swept and mopped before all rehearsals, master classes and performances.
!! The company will not rehearse or perform on a concrete floor, even if it is covered with linoleum or wood laid directly on the concrete. !!
7. Crew
If theater is a union house:

PLEASE NOTE: The crew for all rehearsals and performances must be the same people. No exceptions.
8. Dressing Rooms
Should have ample tables, mirrors, and make-up lights. An extra room near the dressing rooms for wardrobe equipped with an iron and ironing board or steamer non-public lavatory facilities with hot and cold running water and showers. Full sized bath towel for use by dancer. At least 3 lbs. of ice cubes should be readily available at all rehearsals and each performance. Light refreshments: fruit juice, mineral water (non-carbonated), fresh fruit, cheese, crackers, snack food, ready for company at dancers call time (3 PM on days with rehearsal, 6 PM on performance only days). On days with a performance before 1:00 PM presenter must provide coffee, tea, hot chocolate, bagels, Danish, doughnuts, orange juice, etc… as needed to provide a “Continental Breakfast”.
9. Time Needed In Theater
Standard call (dependent upon stage and crew conditions and programming):
minimum of 3 days (24 hours) for load-in and tech before first performance day and
8 hours (including spacing rehearsal) on day of performance
If a second program is requested:
• 4 hours minimum + spacing rehearsal for each change of program
Presenter must provide BoanDanz action with a boom box or access to the sound system with an audio technician for all rehearsals.
